— About the Candidate —

Meet Chrystal O'Jon.

Chrystal O'Jon is a business owner, community builder, and proven leader dedicated to the growth and future of Maricopa.

She is the co-founder of the Black Maricopa Chamber of Commerce, creating opportunities and support for local businesses, and the publisher of Maricopa Lifestyle Magazine, where she connects residents and amplifies the voices that shape the city.

Chrystal serves as Vice President of Operations & Marketing/Advertising for Maricopa Veteran Care Center, supporting veterans while strengthening community partnerships that make a real impact.

She is also the co-producer of the Maricopa Desert Music & Arts Festival, now in its second year — an event focused on giving back and investing in youth through music and arts programs, with support from partners like AARP Arizona.

In addition, Chrystal is the co-host of the What Now? Show, a local podcast and media platform that highlights small businesses, addresses mental health, and creates space for real conversations about the issues that matter most to the Maricopa community.

With over 30 years of experience in business, nonprofit leadership, and community development, Chrystal has built her reputation on action, connection, and results.

As a mother and grandmother, her commitment is personal — she is working to ensure Maricopa continues to grow in a way that supports families, businesses, and future generations.
